Fitness isn’t about just looking good: Abhaas Mehta

Television’s bad boy Abhaas Mehta gained immense popularity after playing the role of Shyam in Star Plus ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?’ and was last seen in Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas (produced by Balaji Telefilms). He is not just a great actor, but also a fitness maniac in true sense! He never misses out on exercise sessions even if he is busy. In a quick chat with TellyChakkar.com, Abhaas reveals all about his fitness regime. Read on... When asked what fitness means to him, he says, “Fitness doesn’t mean looking hot and simply having abs and biceps. Fitness is much broader than that. It means being healthy and strong. It signifies to not be dependent on anyone and to be able to carry out day-to-day life healthily.” What does his workout schedule look like? “I go to a 24 hour gym so I don’t have to worry about squeezing time. I focus on weights and cardio five days a week. Cardio helps in burning a lot of calories. I work out for two hours daily. I play football twice a week so that keeps me fit too. And I’m following a ketogenic diet which is a low-carb high-fat diet that has multiple health benefits,” says the actor. On his favourite fitness icon, Abhaas says, “It has to be Sylvester Stallone. Otherwise in the industry, I think Anoop Singh Rajpoot has the best physique and we exercise together so I know the hard work he puts into getting fit. VJ Bani is the fittest woman in the industry according to me.” Any fitness tips for our readers? Give health priority and exercise for your body and not for your looks. Ditch the 70 – 30 ratio of diet and exercise and make it 60 – 40. Well, great tips, Abhaas!
