MUMBAI: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, an actress, posted several pictures from her mother's birthday celebration. The actress shared a glimpse at her mother's special day on Instagram after arriving back in Mumbai from the Cannes film festival. Aishwarya is seen in the pictures holding her mother close as they pose with Aaradhya Bachchan, the actress' daughter.
Aishwarya's actor husband Abhishek Bachchan was not present for the festivities, though.
Aishwarya added, "Love you Birthday girl, dearest Mommy-Doddaaa," along with the images that she shared.
The actress looked amazing dressed entirely in black. In terms of glitz, she wore a striking red lip color and wing eyeliner. Additionally, she had her right hand in an arm sling.
Aishwarya made two appearances on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024. She wore a stunning strapless black and gold gown for the first look. She received a roaring cheer when the actress wore the eye-catching ensemble on the Cannes red carpet.
Aishwarya chose a striking blue and silver gown by Falguni Shane Peacock for her second appearance. The internet wasn't overly thrilled with Aishwarya's second-day ensemble for the star-studded event.
Social media users criticized Aishwarya's stylist for doing "a poor job" as soon as pictures of the actress appeared on the platform. "Just because you're wearing Falguni Shane Peacock doesn't mean you show up as a Peacock," a user commented. "Looks like she took the 90s birthday props from the hotel," commented a second person. “That is an actual peacock,” a third person commented. A fourth user wrote, "Dear Aish, please fire your stylist or whoever helped you with dress like this."
Aishwarya made her screen debut in a saree designed by Neeta Lulla at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. The Bollywood actress last appeared in Ponniyin Selvan: II, a pan-Indian film directed by Mani Ratnam, made a stunning impression on the Cannes red carpet last year by donning a silver hooded cape gown.
