Mika fulfills 'lifelong dream' of Biba Singh

Singer Mika Singh, who collaborated with Indian-American singer Biba Singh for the just released Punjabi song "Nach baby", feels happy to work with Biba.

According to a statement, Mika had promised Biba ten years ago to give her break under his banner Music and Sound if he ever launches one.

So for "Nach baby", both the artistes collaborated together and are now in awe of each other.

Mika said, "I am happy that I could complete Biba's lifelong dream."

Having worked in various Punjabi albums with renowned singers like Daler Mehndi and Bappi Lahri, Biba is also a doctor.

Talking about her experience of working with Mika, Biba said, "He has been an inspiration to me for the last 25 years and to be able to make my singing debut with him is just unbelievable. I am utterly thankful to him. The journey of making this song has been very creative, beautiful and satisfying."

Shaan teams up with son for 'DuckTales'

Singer-composer Shaan and his 13-year-old son, Shubh, have collaborated to reprise the iconic title track of comedy series DuckTales in Hindi.

Disney Channel India will be launching DuckTales, which tells adventures of Duckburg's family of ducks - Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, and the triplets Huey, Dewey, Louie on 1 October. Shaan and Shubh have now joined the world of adventure by singing the Hindi version of the popular DuckTales music sequence.

"I am a huge fan of the original series and really happy that a new generation of kids, including my son, will have the opportunity to grow up with DuckTales. The title sequence absolutely complements the sense of adventure and excitement of the show and it was fun recording the Hindi version; especially because I could share the experience with my son Shubh," Shaan said in a statement.

Devika Prabhu, Executive Director and Head-Product, Media Networks, Disney India, also said, "DuckTales holds a very special place in Disney's storytelling history, especially in India. The new series brings the same energy and adventurous spirit for a whole new generation of young fans. Shaan and Shubh coming on board to reprise the iconic DuckTales song in Hindi, will excite kids and adults alike, move to the beat and join in the adventures of Uncle Scrooge and the three nephews."

Featuring a distinct animation style inspired by the classic Carl Barks' comic designs, the new series' adventures will once again take viewers along as Scrooge McDuck, his curious and mischief-making grandnephews - Huey, Dewey, and Louie -- and the optimistic-yet-temperamental Donald Duck embark on high-flying adventures worldwide. It celebrates the importance of family and friendship, with comedy, mystery and adventure at every turn.

I'm open to playing a strong negative character: Luv Sinha

After war drama Paltan, actor Luv Sinha wants to challenge himself as an artiste and says he would like to explore darker and complex themes with his projects.

"I'm happy that whoever has seen Paltan is appreciating my portrayal of Shri Attar Singh. I believe in giving every role my best and being honest towards the character," Luv told a leading publication.

"I take my profession very seriously and I think that shows in my work. Acting is what I love doing the most and every role is an opportunity to prove myself," he added.

"I want to work with good directors and be a part of good films, and play challenging characters. I would like to work with some of our other young actors since I feel that working with a talented artist helps in making both actors perform better," said the son of veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha and brother of actress Sonakshi Sinha.

What all roles do you want to explore?

"I would like to play roles which allow me to perform. I'm open to playing a strong negative character since it would be fun to play someone complex like that. Characters such as what Rana Daggubati played in Baahubali' or Khilji in Padmaavat interest me as an actor," he admitted.

Luv, who made his screen debut with Sadiyaan: Boundaries Divide... Love Unites in 2010, takes his career seriously.

"I believe that more than a challenge, it is a responsibility that I have to fulfill whenever I act in a film and I always want to give it my best. For me every opportunity is another chance to perform and do something I love and I take that very seriously," he said.

I direct films for myself: Manav Kaul

Actor Manav Kaul says he directs films, but not with the intention of selling them to producers or distributors. He makes them for himself.

"I don't want to direct. I have directed films and I am editing, but I shouldn't direct. I direct films for myself. I have directed two. I don't want to release them also," Manav told a leading publication.

He just loves the process of directing a film.

"It is an extension of my theatre (work). I will make a film and put on YouTube. I won't get into the selling part," said the Tumhari Sulu actor.

What about the people involved in his films?

"They work for free. I give them good food, alcohol and good travel. I also don't earn any money. I have been doing theatre for about 13 years. We don't get paid. Still, we keep doing new plays. If we earn, we distribute among ourselves," he said.

So, directing is his passion?

"Not passion. It's just the way I am. There is no passion. I don't know what else to do in my life. I do all these things and stay out of all the paperwork. I hate telling people what I am doing then convincing them to give me money and then convince people to come and see the film. It's too much. I love acting though," said Manav, who last featured in Ghoul, Netflix's first Indian horror series.

On Tuesday, the Jolly LLB 2 actor also tweeted an image of a no objection letter addressed to anyone wishing to stage his plays.

"I give permission for the usage of all my writing material for the purpose of performances that come under non-profitable/experimental space. Please consider this as a no objection letter of intent for anyone who might like to perform my material.

"I further add that the person of interest also has the freedom to adapt my writing into any language of their choice. The three books released till now are - 'Theek Tumhare Peeche', 'Prem Kabootar' and 'Tumhare Baare Maai' (to be released in October 2018)," he wrote on the microblogging site.

Want to be at my best in film with Hrithik: Tiger Shroff

Actor Tiger Shroff, who is gearing up for his forthcoming Yash Raj Films untitled project, says that he wants to be at his best to lock horns with his onscreen idol Hrithik Roshan in the film.

Tiger was interacting with the media at the launch of innerwear brand Macho's new collection "Macho Hint" as their brand ambassador on Tuesday here.

Asked whether he was ready to share screen with Hrithik, he said, "I want to be at my best because he is always at his best and I don't think he will ever go easy while shooting the film."

There were reports that there will be a dance-off between the two dance icons in the film but Tiger says "it's too early to pinpoint"

"We haven't really created that song yet but there is an interesting situation in the film where both of us come together on the dance floor," he said.

Asked whether Hrithik was playing his guru in the film, he said, "Yeah.. we had sort of publicized the film in that way when we announced the film on social media."

The film will see Vaani Kapoor in female lead.

The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and it is slated to release on next year's Gandhi Jayanti.

Bappi Lahiri makes jingle for Mike Tyson

Bappi Lahiri has composed a jingle to welcome legendary boxer Mike Tyson to India. The celebrated music director says it is a perfect Bollywood way to greet the boxing legend.

Tyson will visit India for the Kumite 1 league mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament to be held here on 29 September.

"It is such a strange coincidence. When Tyson will be in my India, I will be in his (country). If I would have been in Mumbai, I would have personally gifted him the jingle," Bappi said in a statement.

"It is such a happy moment for our country that he is coming all the way to promote MMA and prepare fighters from our country. I think he deserves the warmest welcome so I could not think of anything else but Bollywood style music to greet him," he added.

The jingle opens with "Om Swagatam", and then elements of Bappi's iconic disco style are infused in the jingle.

On the association, Mohamedali Budhwani, Kumite 1 League's CMD, said, "I was so humbled by Bappi Da's child like excitement and how gracefully and quickly he took out time to compose a jingle to welcome Mike Tyson. We will play this on stage when Tyson goes up and we also want to do a video conferencing so that Dada can personally gift it to him. We want Mike Tyson to know the creator of this track."
