Anurag's distinct flair with Shah Rukh's charm will certainly be a killer combo. However, it appears that the fans' request mentioned above will remain just a wish. Anurag recently revealed in an interview the reason he is afraid to work on a movie with King Khan.
In an interview with the popular news portal, Anurag Kashyap stated that he loves Shah Rukh Khan and especially his films Chak De India and Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa. He also stated that while he is keen to make a film with the King Khan of Bollywood, he is scared to do so.
The director made note of the reason for it, saying he is afraid of SRK's fans. He said that meeting the demands of a celebrity's fan base is quite challenging. According to Anurag, superstar fans frequently want to see their idol in a particular kind of movie and role, which leads to the actor becoming typecast as well.
He is not a director who can change a film to suit the tastes of the public, though; rather, he has his own distinct style and genre of filmmaking. Anurag says that the consequences might be quite expensive for everyone involved if, god forbid, viewers don't like the different avatar he displays as an actor.
He continues by saying that he is unable to satisfy Shah Rukh's aura or enigma. He went on to say that if Shah Rukh Khan's movie Fan, which had an unique plot and featured the star in a different role, had been successful, he would have the courage to work with him again.
