MUMBAI: Madhuri Dixit’s smile and dancing skills have won over the hearts of the audience. The incredible work of the talented actress has inspired many to develop an interest in showbiz, and Geeta Basra is no different.
Sharing a major throwback photo, Geeta Basra in her latest Instagram post has revealed that like many other girls she too wanted to be like Madhuri Dixit. “I’m sure I speak for most of the girls who came to Mumbai in the early 2000s with stars in their eyes.. everyone wanted to be MADHURI DIXIT..” she wrote, and mentioned the moment when she became popular as ‘ek, do, teen girl’ in her hometown. “and as a hugeeee fan of hers this is a childhood moment where I proudly became Mohini and from this moment on was famously known as the ‘ek, do, teen girl’ in my hometown Portsmouth!”

Further, sharing details about the performance, the actress wrote, “This is one of the many performances I enacted from her library of famous hit numbers.. thank you @madhuridixitnene Mam for inspiring a million girls like me! You were and still are my most favourite”
Geeta also shared that it’s her mother who would help her with the costumes. “A special thank you to my Mum who would stitch endlessly the exact same costume she would wear onscreen!!,” wrote the actress.

On the work front, Geeta Basra has showcased her acting skills in Bollywood films like Dil Diya Hai and The Train, among others. She is married to cricketer Harbhajan Singh. They tied the knot in 2015 and welcomed their daughter Hinaya Heer Plaha in 2016.
