The movie had a good collection on opening day and even on weekends it seems that the movie did quite well. On day 4, the first Monday, Bad Newz collected around Rs 3.5 Cr while it collected around Rs 60 Cr worldwide.

The movie Bad Newz is the follow-up of the movie Good Newwz which featured Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani. The trailer of the movie Bad Newz was released which introduced the characters of Vicky Kaushal, and Ammy Virk who are unexpectedly experiencing fatherhood to the unborn child of the character of Triptii Dimri.
