MUMBAI: Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma. This sports drama movie stars Ajay Devgn, Priya Mani and Gajraj Rao. Maidaan is a tribute to Syed Abdul Rahim who was an Indian football coach and manager of the India national team from 1950 until his death in 1963, and a former player. He is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football and his era is known as the golden era of Indian football history.

On the other hand, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, or better known as BMCM is a movie directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie features Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinhi, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ronit Roy. The audience was excited to watch this one on the big screens as they had not seen Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar teaming up any time before.
Both the movies were postponed from releasing on 10th April to 11th April but Maidaan also held paid previews on 10th April. BMCM got a far better opening than Maidaan as the audience was more excited to watch the action comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
When talking about the opening day collection of BMCM, it collected Rs 36.33 Cr worldwide. On the other hand, Maidaan collected Rs 15 Cr worldwide. Maidaan also held paid previews on 10th April.
It’s been 22 days now since both the movies released and on day 22, BMCM collected Rs 0.40 Cr while Maidaan collected 0.50 Cr. When talking about the worldwide collections, BMCM collected around Rs 106.35 Cr while Maidaan collected around Rs 61.3 Cr. While the movies collected good amount on 3rd Sunday, the scene flipped on 3rd Monday with great dip. On day 21, a public holiday, both movies did well but Maidaan did much better it seems.
