MUMBAI: Before Shah Rukh Khan became the superstar he is today, actor Chunky Panday and his wife Bhavana Panday were close friends with both Gauri Khan and SRK. Chunky just reminisced about the period when SRK-Gauri didn't reside in the magnificent Mannat, but rather in a rented apartment. Chunky added that he was sure Shah Rukh would rise to fame in the future.
Chunky stated in an interview with Time Out With Ankit, “I think one of his first friends in Bombay when he arrived was my younger brother Chikki. They’re still the best of friends. So, at that time, they (Shah Rukh and Gauri) were renting a place and they used to come to meet my brother, sab baith ke video cassettes dekhte the. So he and Gauri were in my house quite often.”
He added, “With Shah Rukh, I was so sure this boy is gonna become a superstar. Because he had that in him, you can see that fire…He’s always had that. That talent has always been there with him before he became the superstar. So he’s very confident and he knew where he was going. I mean, yeah, of course very proud that I’ve known him since then. He hasn’t changed.”
Shah Rukh and his family are still very close to Chunky's family. Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh, and Ananya Panday, the daughter of Chunky, have been best friends since they were young children. Ananya frequently travels across the country with Shah Rukh, and Suhana Khan to watch the Kolkata Knight Riders play in the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, in terms of work, Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as King Khan, was originally scheduled to make a significant cameo appearance in Sujoy Ghosh's King. However, according to recent events, he will instead play a prominent part alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. For this movie, Sujoy Ghosh is working with Siddharth Anand and his production business, Marflix Pictures.
