MUMBAI: Recently, there have been speculations that Pooja Entertainment, the production company owned by Vashu and Jaccky Bhagnani, has encountered difficulties. Several people claiming to have been employed by the production company stated that they still have unpaid dues.

There was talk that the Bhagnanis were compelled to "sell" the office due to the excessive production costs of the previous several films distributed under the banner and their poor box office performance.

It was also mentioned that the hefty fees of stars like Akshay Kumar contributed to the increase in expenses. Vashu Bhagnani emphasized that there haven't been any layoffs or the production house closing, but producer Sunil Darshan has recently made some startling statements.

In an interview with a portal, Darshan was asked whether the rumour that Akshay Kumar charges a whopping Rs 165 crore per film is true. To that, he responded, “I can’t comment since the figure mentioned by you seems inaccurate. That seems to be closer to Tiger Shroff’s price.”

He confirmed that Tiger Shroff charges as much as Rs 165 crore for a film! When asked what Akshay Kumar’s fee would be then, he said, “I wouldn’t like to comment on that. But I will say this: Vashu Bhagnani enjoyed a ‘Midas Touch’ phase in the 1990s when he collaborated with David Dhawan for almost half a dozen movies.”

He continued, “The David-Vashu collaboration somewhere lost its sheen thereafter. Vashuji was a highly resourceful entrepreneur. He produced several films in the second phase, but success eluded him in movies through the past two decades even as he met with success in his construction business.”

Recently, Vashu Bhagnani refuted all rumors. He made it clear in a statement that he will always be associated with Bollywood and stated, “I love Bollywood and films. Bollywood is my jaan, this is the most emotional industry and people stick by you through thick and thin.”

He also discussed the claims of non-payment. The last film produced by Pooja Entertainment was "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan," starring Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar, which had a poor box office performance. In addition, they have produced films such as Bell Bottom, Jawaani Jaaneman, and Mission Raniganj.
