In an unprecedented development, Frieda Pinto who rose to fame with her first film Slumdog Millionaire has said that she and her co-star James Franco will not be part of the sequel of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
The actress, who played primatologist, Caroline Aranha in the 2011 released film will not be part of the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, it is understood.
"The sequel's on, but we're not in it. It's a whole new cast. It would have been great to (do the sequel), but I don't know how they would bring our characters back in. But we'll do something else," Pinto said in a statement.
Now it is said that the producers are going ahead with a whole new cast.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, directed by Cloverfield's Matt Reeves, will star Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Judy Greer and Andy Serkis.
The film is due to hit theatres in May 2014.
