MUMBAI: Superstar Salman Khan shares a close bond with his family, especially when it comes to his youngest sister Arpita Khan Sharma. While today marks the 6th anniversary of Arpita Khan with hubby Aayush Sharma, we are looking back to the time when Arpita Khan had first introduced Aayush to her brother, Salman Khan who had an epic reaction to their wedding proposal.

During a trailer launch of Aayush Sharma’s Bollywood debut ‘Loveyatri’, the ‘Sultan’ of Bollywood had shared that it was Arpita who had introduced Aayush to the Khans, before their marriage. Comparing Arpita’s love story with his elder sister Alvira who married actor Atul Agnihotri, he shared, “We brothers wake up late. And all such proposals came early in the morning. We were making a film titled My Punjabi Nikah, that’s still under production. So we were looking for a new boy. After a month Sohail said ‘I’ve seen a guy in the gym. He is the ideal casting for My Punjabi Nikah.’ I said that’s great, let’s sign him. But then that guy simply vanished and reappeared after three months. We met that guy (referring to Aayush Sharma) at our home when our sister (Arpita Khan) brought him and said I want to marry him. We agreed, and then Sohail told me, ‘remember I told you about that boy at the gym for that film? He’s the boy!’ I said ‘great, now our film will be made for free.”

Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma tied their knot on 20 November 2014 at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad and were later blessed with a baby son, Ahil Sharma.
