Manisha Koirala has worked with several celebrities, both big and small. She has interacted with many people over her extensive career in the film industry. However, she always liked Shah Rukh Khan. Both co-starred in the iconic movie Dil Se. Manisha grew even more favorable of SRK after recalling his one modest deed during a recent conversation with Netflix.
She stated, “What I really liked about Shah Rukh even back then, despite being a big star, he would have his tea sitting on the floor. I really admire that no matter how big a star you are, you are not flying, you are rooted.”
In an interaction with India Today, Manisha Koirala for the first time, opened up about her insecurity against her contemporary actors. The diva revealed that she refused to be a part of Yash Chopra’s film starring Madhuri Dixit, purely out of insecurity.
Adding how she got scared to be pitted against such a brilliant actress, Manisha expressed, “One of the regrets that I have in my career is that I didn’t do Yash Chopra’s film. I was pitted against Madhuri ji (Dixit), and I got scared. I backed out of that project.”
Manisha Koirala starred in another cult of Mani Ratnam's 1995 film Bombay. She played the prominent role next to Tollywood actor Arvind Swamy. The actress previously revealed that she was on the verge of turning down Mani Ratnam's offer for the movie because she was nervous about playing a mother on screen at the time. She revealed this in an interview with a prominent YouTube channel.
Manisha added, “I was not wise back then. I remember I got an offer of Bombay. I had heard the music, but I had not seen Roja. But I knew that Roja is a big hit. But when I was asked to do Bombay, I was a little apprehensive. I was not wise back then. So there were a lot of norms in Bollywood in those days. Like a heroine cannot do a mother’s role, otherwise, a heroine will be typecast forever as a mother. And I used to listen to those things because those are the people who come and tell you that.”
