Mita remembers Om Puri with reverence and affection as she remembers the birth anniversary of her beloved co-star and close friend. The actor remarked, "I remember him being much senior to me. He was such a celebrated and internationally renowned artist. I, on the other hand, had just come out of drama school and was hardly three films old. He was already this established international name, but on sets there was a great vulnerability that he brought, something that translated to him as a person as well."

They needed only a small amount of thought about the roles they played to achieve their on-screen chemistry, which was the result of intuition and instinct. Om Puri, an example of acting diversity, shows a tremendous ability to effortlessly transition between the serious and the humorous with unwavering generosity.

It's still difficult for Mita to accept the unavoidable demise of Om Puri. She said, “Om is very special. I sometimes feel he is still around and is shooting around. It is easier that way. Om made a place. He was great and lived an amazing life. But I think his going away was tragic.”

She characterizes Om Puri as an enigma, an irreplaceable luminary who left an everlasting mark upon the industry, and in this perpetual retaining, she pays ardent gratitude to his indelible contributions to the cinema. She added, "He broke preconceptions of what it means to be an actor and a star. He is inimitable. I don't think there was someone like him before him. I don't think there will be someone like him again."
