MUMBAI: Legendary Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, known for his unforgettable villainous roles and iconic dialogue delivery, was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on November 8 after experiencing chest congestion.
The news initially sparked concern among fans, but his family has confirmed that the situation is under control.
His son-in-law, Vikas Bhalla, shared that the 89-year-old actor is “doing fine” and undergoing normal medical procedures related to old age.
He reassured that there is no cause for panic, stating that doctors are simply keeping him under observation.
Lilavati Hospital also released an official statement clarifying his condition. Dr Jalil Parker informed that Prem Chopra is in the ward, not the ICU, and is being treated for a heart-related issue along with a viral lung infection. The medical team emphasised that he is stable and not critical.

With a glorious career spanning over six decades and more than 300 films, Prem Chopra remains one of Indian cinema’s most beloved actors.
