MUMBAI: Radhikka Madan truly stands as one of the most promising actresses in Indian Cinema. The actress who rose to prominence from her debut film 'Pataakha' and received widespread fame with her role in 'Angrezi Medium' and 'Sarfira', recently opened up about a challenging audition early in her career for Dharma Production’s Student of the Year 2.
Despite her meticulous preparation, which included reading the audition scenes even in her sleep, Radhikka fell ill just before the big day. For her the stakes were way too high and she thought that she was given the opportunity of a lifetime and she freaked herself out in her head which got her sick. "I had a fever and a cold, and I gave the worst audition of my life," she confessed in an interview. When she came back from the audition, she was extremely anxious and she couldn't sleep that night and promised herself that she’s never going to feel that way.
However, this setback proved to be a turning point for Radhikka. She realized that her excessive worry was hindering her performance and decided to adopt a more relaxed approach. "That day, I promised myself I would never feel this way again," she said. "I didn't want to live a life of confusion and anxiety."
Just two weeks after her disastrous audition, Radhikka received a call for an audition for Pataakha. "I was told it was Vishal Bhardwaj's film, and I responded - He isn't going to take me anyway. I'm going to go there, live that character's life to the fullest even if it's just for 2 mins." Despite her initial doubts, she decided to go for it, and the rest, as they say, is history. Since then, at every audition, she has felt that she’s just going to live her life to the fullest, live that life of that particular character for two minutes. The film marked her debut and catapulted her to fame.
