Reliance Entertainment seems to be following the old adage of ‘Old is Gold’. The production wing of the ADAG group has decided to recall Amit Khanna, who quit as its chairman last year.
Said a spokesperson of Reliance Entertainment that they have tapped Khanna to rejoin the outfit. “He will be involved with all the creative decisions our company will take on films,” he quipped.
The move seems to have transpired after their recent releases Besharam and Zanjeer tanked at the box office. Confirming the same the spokesperson observed that that was one of the reasons why they have recalled Khanna.
When we spoke to Khanna, he commented, “I never left Reliance; was always connected to it by heart. But all said and done I will not be part of any active business role once I am back.”
Otherwise too, there has not been any declaration yet of the official designation of Khanna when he returns.
Khanna, an industry veteran with considerable experience as a producer, lyricist, actor and writer, joined Reliance Entertainment in 2000 and stayed on for 12 long years.
