MUMBAI: Sanjay Dutt reportedly is planning to remake Sunil Dutt's 1986 comedy, Padosan albeit with a twist.
Yes, according to a report in Mid-day, Sanjay is planning about reviving his father's old classic. Reports further stated that the actor will not be reprising his father's role, but he is keen on playing Kishore Kumar's role in the same. Speaking about its casting, Sanjay wants to rope in Govinda to play Mehmood's masterji. And the new story will have its twist by pitting two youths against each other.
The story will have a rapper competing with a young man who practices classical music. This is where Bareilly ki Barfi actors Rajkummar and Ayushmann come in the picture with Sanjay and Govinda playing their mentors.
Sanjay has already acquired the remake rights from a leading distribution company and his dream of so many years may finally get fulfilled. The project is expected to start rolling early next year.
