With his recent success in the form of <em>Rowdy Rathore</em> behind him and his soon-to-release <em>Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi</em>, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is now all set to produce a film based on the life of the Olympic Bronze medal winner MC Mary Kom. The film will be directed by the renowned art director Omung Kumar.
Bhansali has revealed that Omung brought the script to him a month before the Olympics. The film talks about how Mary, despite being a mother of two and having gone struggles and hardships, became a world champion.

Omung Kumar, who had earlier worked with Bhansali on Black and Saawariya approached the director with a detailed script based on the life of MC Mary Kom, after acquiring the required permission from her.
Upon hearing the script, Bhansali was very much moved by the real life story of the Indian woman boxer. He also added that it will be an exciting film for him to produce.
Bhansali has set a meeting with Mary in Mumbai on 23 August.
