Sanjay Leela Bhansali set to create Manipur in Darjeeling for last schedule of Mary Kom biopic

Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Somehow or the other the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali continues to be in the news ever since his latest offering Ram-Leela turned out to be a money spinner. Just the other day we had reported that to essay the role of Mary Kom who hails from Manipur, Priyanka Chopra was learning the Manipuri language as the director wants everything perfect in his biopic of this five time World Boxing champion. Now for shooting the last schedule of the film early next year, Bhansali has made a little bit of alteration as far as the outdoor locations are concerned. He has decided to create Manipur in Darjeeling to avoid any delays that the weather may bring. Though the shoot will take place in Manipur for a week, the cast and crew will then proceed to Darjeeling where they plan to create Manipur for some crucial scenes, it is understood. Elaborating on the same, director Omung Kumar said, “Though we’ve shot in Manali our next schedule that will go on floors in February-March wouldn't be possible to be filmed at Manipur since it will be snowing there at that time of the month. Hence the idea of shooting at a village near Darjeeling sprung up.”
