Even before the release of Great Grand Masti, the producers Balaji Motion Pictures and Maruti International have found itself in a soup.

Wondering why?

Well, Shiney Ahuja has sent a legal notice to Ekta Kapoor, Jeetendra Kapoor, Inder Kumar. The actor has taken the offence to a maid’s character in the film being named as ‘Shiney.’

A source from the legal firm, that has sent the notice to the makers of the film, has been quoted in a report as saying that naming the maid Shiney seems to be a quirky take on the infamous rape case of maid involving Shiney Ahuja.

Shiney's lawyer said that the behavior of the producers of the movie constitutes Criminal Contempt as defined under Section 2(c) of the Contempt of Court Act 1971. Shiney has also filed an appeal against his March 2011 conviction that had sentenced him to a seven-year jail term in the rape case filed in 2009 by his maid. The hearing of appeal is in progress before the Bombay High Court and therefore sub-judice.
