Ryan Reynolds to produce horror story

Actor Ryan Reynolds will produce horror story The Patient Who Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine.

Twentieth Century Fox has partnered with New Regency to buy supernatural horror project The Patient Who Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine and set it up with Reynolds and Vertigo Entertainment, reports of media.

Reynolds will produce the project through his Maximum Effort production company along with Roy Lee and Jon Berg through Vertigo.

Jasper DeWitt wrote the novella The Patient Who Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine, originally published on Reddit No Sleep, about an idealistic young doctor who tries to solve a mystery and heal its most difficult patient.

The bidding for the project was described as very competitive with several studios and other production companies chasing the property.

Reynolds is attached only as a producer. No actors or directors have been hired.

Sheridan Smith to take break from limelight

Actress Sheridan Smith will be taking a break from the spotlight to avoid another mental breakdown.

According to The Sun, the 37-year-old actress, who confessed she "nearly lost her mind last year", is keen to avoid the same fate after a troublesome few years, reports of leading publication.

"She is very conscious of letting things get on top of her, so she has booked some time off and is just going to have some me time," said a source.

Smith's recent documentary Sheridan Smith: Coming Home detailed both her professional success and personal woes.

In an earlier interview, Sheridan had said she "lost the plot, her mind and had a massive meltdown" when her father Colin died in 2016 after a sudden cancer battle.

Sandra Oh, Andy Samberg to host 76th Golden Globe awards

Actors Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg have been announced as hosts of the 2019 Golden Globes.

The Killing Eve star and the Brooklyn Nine-Nine comedian will follow in the footsteps of this year's host, Seth Meyers, in January.

The pair presented together at that ceremony, ridiculing the La La Land snafu in a warmly received skit, reports of media.

“We're excited to welcome Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg as co-hosts of Hollywood's party of the year," said the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) President, Meher Tatna.

"Both Golden Globe Award recipients have continually showcased their talents in film and television and we can't wait see what their undeniable chemistry will bring to the Golden Globes stage."

The news arrives a day after the Oscars announced Kevin Hart to host next year's ceremony and a day before this year's Golden Globe nominations are set to be unveiled.

I've been in therapy for years: Jennifer Aniston

Actress Jennifer Aniston says she feels fortunate to have survived her level of fame without any "emotional scarring".

In an interview with Extra, the actress also reacted to reports claiming that she sought therapy after her split from Justin Theroux, reports of leading publication.

"How lucky I am I got through (fame) without having any emotional scarring," Aniston said when reflecting on her career.

On reports that she had sought counselling after her break-up from Theroux, Aniston said, "I've been in therapy for years."

Aniston split from Theroux in February after more than two years of marriage and seven years together.

In September, Aniston finished filming her upcoming Murder Mystery alongside Adam Sandler in Toronto and Italy.

‘Narcos: Mexico' renewed for season 2

Drug trade drama Narcos: Mexico has been renewed for a second season by streaming site Netflix.

Originally intended as a fourth season of Narcos, which focused on the rise of the cocaine business in Colombia under Pablo Escobar and his Medellin Cartel, Narcos: Mexico became a new series, shifting the focus to the beginnings of the Mexican drug trade and how it became what it is today, reports by media.

Season 1 charts the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s as Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna) takes the helm, unifying traffickers in order to build an empire.

When DEA agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena) moves his wife and young son from California to Guadalajara to take on a new post, he quickly learns that his assignment will be more challenging than he ever could have imagined. As Kiki garners intelligence on Félix and becomes more entangled in his mission, a tragic chain of events unfold, affecting the drug trade and the war against it for years to come.

In addition to Luna and Pena, the first season also starred Alyssa Diaz, Joaquín Cosio, Matt Letscher, and Aaron Staton.

Piers Morgan blasts Jesy Nelson for her tattoo

Journalist Piers Morgan has criticised Little Mixs singer Jesy Nelson for getting a gun tattoo.

On Tuesday, Nelson posted a photograph of a new tattoo next to her ear and a tattoo of a small gun on her ribcage in an Instagram post and captioned it thanking the tattooist for "always giving her favourite little tattoos", reports of media.

But her post did not go well with The Good Morning Britain presenter as he slammed Nelson, saying she is supposed to be a "role model to millions of impressionable young girls".

"Anyway Jesy this great role model to millions of influential young women, who wants to empower them, she has had a new tattoo put on herself and she posted last night.

"It's a gun, it's a gun on the right side of her backside. Erm, it's a gun," he said.

Morgan also explained why having "gun" as a tattoo is a bad idea.

He said, "It's a gun, isn't that great as gun crime in this country begins to tick up as gun crime in other countries like America rages.

"So many people are getting shot to pieces and of course, the best thing for a young woman to do as a role model to millions of impressionable young girls is to tattoo a gun to her backside. And people wonder why I call these girls, Little Mix, irresponsible or stupid."

In some way, it's connected to him: R. Kelly's wife on gun threat

R. Kelly’s former wife and choreographer Drea Kelly says a gun threat that caused an evacuation at a New York City screening for Lifetimes upcoming documentary series Surviving R. Kelly was connected to the singer.

In an interview to variety.com, Drea said, "I can't speak to what he would or would not do because I don't know what his mindset is right now. But I would say that I don't believe in happenstance, I don't believe that anything is a coincidence.

"I do believe that in some shape, form or fashion it is connected to him. Now, whether he orchestrated it or not, that I cannot say. But I just do not believe in coincidences. Of all the theaters, of all the nights, of all the premiers, it happened with us."

The evacuation took place followed by the screening, in which the seven accusers featured in the film were to speak about their experiences with the singer, who has been accused of sexual misconduct multiple times over the past 20 years.

The venue received two anonymous, threatening calls in which the caller claimed someone had a gun in the theater; the calls were routed to local police, who suggested the evacuation.

Among the seven accusers was Drea, who has earlier claimed that Kelly beat and bound her, among other abuses, during their 10 years of marriage. The couple separated in 2005.
