Stree 2 has received a lot of praise for being even funnier than the original installment, with jokes that make connections to contemporary culture and memes. One joke that was initially about tears and made reference to singer Neha Kakkar—who went viral as a meme because she frequently broke down on a reality show—was changed by the CBFC to use the name Sneha Kakkar. Amar Kaushik was questioned about the modifications made to this well-known joke by an entertainment news portal.

Amar Kaushik was questioned by the censor board if he thought the request to alter the dialogue was disappointing. The CBFC members brought up the possibility that such jokes would insult people, but the director assured Bollywood Hungama that it wasn't truly a downer. Amar chose not to ask that the dialogue remain in the film because they thought the CBFC had a good point. According to Kaushik, the joke was still understood by the crowd.

The director of Bhediya went on to say that gags like this frequently arise when creating comedies, much like friends might make remarks while seated next to each other, which heightens the fun. The goal of Amar and screenwriter Niran Bhatt was to employ humor in a way that would appeal to the general public. The director declared that he detested the term "gag," finding it unpleasant and evoking images of vomiting.

The CBFC members were commended by the Stree 2 director, who called them sensible and intelligent, during the same interview. Amar stated that they saw the potential for problems in some conversations and that they understood his point of view. However, the board also realized that cutting some lines would have an impact on the plot of Stree 2. He was shocked that they hadn't censored them. Amar did, however, disclose that the team was ready to remove a number of conversations.
