The Coffin Maker sweeps major awards at the Peloponnesian Intl film fest

In our earlier article we had reported that director Veena Bakshi’s latest offering The Coffin Maker would open the 4th Peloponnesian International Film Festival at Greece. And today we report that producer Bharat Vijan’s film has swept major awards at the festival. Naseeruddin Shah won the best accolade when he bagged the best leading actor award for his performance in the film that also won awards for best production design for Vijan, best original score for music director duo Bapi-Tutul and best director Veena Bakshi. And if all this was not all the film clinched The Golden Pegasus for best film too. The awards were presented amidst thunderous applause in the presence of the Honorable Ambassador of India in Greece Tsewang Topden and the first secretary of the embassy of India in Greece Somnath Halder. Another film from India Praveen Morchhale’s Barefoot to Goa also won accolades. Praveen won a special mention from the jury for his sensitive direction of the little child artistes who play pivotal roles in the film. The festival that went underway on 7 December concluded on 15 December.
