Popular Indian-British actor Saeed Jaffrey, who has starred in some award winning films passed away yesterday (15 November).
The actor has been part of films like Dil, Kishan Kanhaiya, Ghar Ho Toh Aisa, Deewana Mastana, Mohabbat, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Ajooba and Aunty No 1 among others.
Saeed, was recently in news when he spoke at length about his divorce, and how he regretted not loving his wife enough. The heart touching interview went viral for its emotional content.
The actor, post his divorce with Madhur Jaffrey, married Jeniffer. He has three daughters from his first marriage.
Saeed’s niece Shaheen Aggarwal shared the news of his demise on Facebook:
“Today, a generation of Jaffreys has passed away. Saeed Jaffrey has joined his brothers and sister and is rejoicing in the lap of his Heavenly Father, eternally (sic).”
The actor is the first Indian to tour Shakespeare, taking his company to US, and also the first one to receive the Order of British for his contribution to drama.
