Harshad Chopda is one name in the TV industry that doesn’t need any introduction. He is a star and has fans in all quarters of the world. Furthermore, he is also featured in Tellychakkar.com’s elite list of the most desirable men in television this year. An actor who can charm with his striking looks, impressive attitude and enchanting voice, Harshad has always been perched pretty high on the popularity chart. Till date, everyone remembers his spirited performances in Left Right Left, Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil and Tere Liye .
Currently, he is seen as Mohan in Imagine’s Dhrampatni (produced jointly by Endemol and DJ’s A Creative Unit). The show initially garnered a lot of media attention and critics believed that it will add a new leaf in the history of Indian television. Sadly, things did not turn out as expected. Dharampatni has been crawling on the TRP ladder ever since its first episode.
Tellychakkar.com talked to Harshad and he said that he is not happy with the progress of the show. He believes that there is nothing wrong in the concept, but the flaw is in the process of execution.
“When the script was narrated to me, I was very excited to play Mohan. I only say yes to any show if I find my character to be challenging enough. I actually live it. But as the show progressed, there was a problem with the way the script got executed. It was not impactful enough,” shares Harshad.
Furthermore, Harshad also feels that the show’s low TRPs have got nothing to do with the fact that it is being aired in a comparatively lesser known GEC like Imagine.
“I don’t think so. And if it is at all a reason, then it is very sad. Viewers should give importance to the script, not the platform,” opines the handsome hunk.
Furthermore, the worst part is that he has put in so much effort to play Mohan, yet his friends come up to him and ask what he is doing these days.
“I feel a pinch when I realize that people don’t know about my show and my character. It is quite saddening,” says Harshad with a heavy voice.
However, he is hopeful that the show will do well in the future as he believes that it still has the potential to do wonders.
And he is so committed to Dharampatni that he is not even going to take an off to party on the New Year eve. “I believe shooting is the best way to celebrate,” ends Harshad.
Well, Harshad we hope that your show does really well in the coming year!!!
