Pallavi Purohit, better known as Padmini in Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors, has been throwing a spectacular performance on this Nautanki Telefilms’ show as the mother of two girls who are almost of the same age as she is in real life. And she gives the entire credit to her banker husband Prashant Purohit who has been by her side all this while. Talking about her character graph on the show she said, “Initially it was a power -packed performance but post the leap, the challenge was to look like a mother of two elderly daughters. I had to work on voice modulation. Initially, I did take some time to pick up, but it has become a routine now. Especially with all that make-up and hairstyle, I feel like an elderly lady. But there are times when I am all enthusiastic on screen and that’s when my director reminds me that I am an elderly lady (laughs),” Pallavi adds. Since Pallavi, Drashti Dhami (Madhubala) and Aarti Puri (Trishna) are more or less of the same age, we asked the actress if they ever go hanging out together. “No, we hardly have the time to, as most of the times we are shooting separately. And these days whatever time I get, I try and spend it with my husband as I am hardly around him,” averred the pretty lady. “My husband is a very understanding man. In fact, he supports me a lot in spite of not being a part of the same fraternity as I am. On Sundays, he tells me that he’d like to be my boy. And that he’d serve me tea and water. Also that he’d hold the umbrella for me on the sets. Till date he hasn’t asked me why I am late or why I am leaving early. He understands my profession and always stands by me,” she further added. Pallavi’s Mr. Right definitely understands that after she took to acting, she has not even been able to go on a honeymoon. “I got married two years ago but I have been busy with my shows since then. I was doing Jyoti earlier, post which I did Sapno Se Bhare Naina and now it’s Madhubala. I could just go for a Rajasthan trip with my husband post-marriage as we had to go to certain religious places there.” The actress, who is an amazing singer, has almost stopped singing due to her busy work schedules. However, her husband is somebody who keeps reminding her of her passion. Pallavi went on to add, “My husband wants me to become a singer as singing has been my hobby for a while. At times I forget it but he does not.” Pallavi is definitely one lucky girl.
