MUMBAI: Actress Rajshree Thakur, who made a comeback on TV with Shashi Sumeet Productions’ Shaadi Mubarak, has now been replaced by Rati Pandey.
Rajshree, who played the role of Preeti, was rumoured to have made an exit over creative differences and claims she was unable to cope with the hectic schedule for which she had even advised makers to introduce parallel tracks.
However, she denied having any fight with the makers and mentioned she was unable to work for as long as 12 hours, 26 days a week while being a mother to a three-year-old.
Rajshree’s replacement news came as a big shock to everyone, especially the cast.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Shaadi Mubarak lead Manav Gohil and asked how he reacts on the entire development, he shared, “Obviously at first I was shocked that the makers and Rajshree have amicably decided not to continue. Also, Rajshree and I had already created a bond and were enjoying doing the scenes. So, for me the biggest challenge is to reconstruct that same bond. Rati is also an accomplished actress just that her challenge will be to pull off the character. My only concern is that the chemistry has to be reconstructed soonest. Along with Rati even I am putting extra efforts to do justice with the scenes.”
Do replacements affect the show? “I think not in daily soap if the characters are strongly established. People are already in love with that character and if it is maintained well and the story is going strong then in a matter of weeks viewers again get used to. Also, we have seen actors being replaced in the past and have been well accepted.”
Do you think Rati makes a perfect choice for Rajshree’s replacement? “Well, I can’t say if a particular actor is right or wrong for a replacement. What would be correct to say is how soon the person sincerely wants to work the character out. And talking about Rati, she is sincere and will surely work it out.
