Their innocent expressions and cute childlike blabber have captivated you. However entertaining you was no child’s play for these tiny tots. These wonder kids have amazingly juggled studies and shot daily to entertain you. Indian television has given a break to many child actors. The likes of Avika Gor, Sparsh Khanchandani, Bhavya Gandhi etc not only entertained us as children but are now successful adolescent actors. They may have crossed their childhood but here are some heart throbs on TV who are yet to enter into their teens. Ashnoor Kaur: Ashnoor, nicknamed chavanni in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 1, is quite like her on-screen persona - a little girl with bewildering maturity- is an intelligent and sincere student. A Tellychakkar.com survey clearly proves that Ashnoor, the Nanhi of Season 1, was far endearing to the viewers than the adult Nanhi of the second season. After making her debut in Zee TV’s Jhansi Ki Rani, there was no looking back for Ashnoor. Commenting on her celebrity status, this bright kid says, “I don’t have starry airs and am quite down to earth. I thank my parents for bringing me up as a grounded child. I am constantly picking up new things while acting. For instance in my current show Jai Jag Janani Maa Durga, I am learning to mouth long and complicated dialogues in chaste Hindi though I am just eight.” This young lady, who is juggling school and shooting with élan, is optimistic that when she grows up she would be a doctor and actress simultaneously. Amrita Mukherjee: Bade Achhe Lagte Hain got even more popular after the adorable chubby Amrita made her entry as Pihu. Simultaneously, little Amrita’s life also miraculously changed. “Wherever I go, people recognise me and applaud my work. The downside is that I have to compromise on my play time and at times also work when others are sleeping.” Amrita’s mother, Mrinmoyee Mukherjee, wants her daughter to have a normal childhood. After Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, she will strictly not be allowed to do any other TV shows till she completes her graduation. The five-year-old wishes to be a teacher and not an actress when she grows up. Shivansh Kotia: This seven-year-old young boy dreams big from this tender age. When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he replies, “I want to be richer and more successful than Bill Gates.” Little Shivansh, who has awed one and all in shows like Balika Vadhu, Mrs.Tendulkar, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, however, doesn’t want to be an actor but an automobile businessman when he grows up. When asked how his life has changed after he became an actor, he observes, “Whenever I go to a mall, people recognise me and call me by my character names.” Regarding his favourite roles, the child actor says, “It was great to roam about in a chaddi in Mrs.Tendulkar. I also like playing an intelligent, naughty, cute and lively boy in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.” This talented kid has also appeared in many advertisements and has acted in the critically acclaimed Gauri Shinde film English Vinglish. Sadhil Kapoor: Seven-year-old Sadhil Kapoor like Shivansh dreams big too. He wants to become a super star actor more popular than Salman Khan. “I love Salman as he does good action scenes,” he quips. Earlier, we have seen Sadhil in Chintu Chinki Aur Badmash Company, Sankat Mochan Hanuman and Bhai Bhaiya Aur Brother. The serial, that helped him shoot up his popularity, is his current show Devon ke Dev Mahadev. The role closest to his heart is that of Ganesha. “I am a devotee of Lord Ganesha and adore him as he has long ears and a lovely trunk. He speaks virtuous words. I simply love the scene where Mahadev cuts off Ganesha’s head,” he observes. This child has become very social after becoming an actor. He says, “It is not that I am missing out on childhood though. I may not be playing at home, but I do play on the sets.” Jannat Zubair Rahmani: This 11-year-old avers that her life hasn’t changed on becoming an actress. The child star who entertained us in Phulwa, Harr Jee, Kashi – Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora and Maati Ki Banno, wants to be an actress when she grows up. Her father Zubair Rahmani, who was unable to realize his dream to be an actor, fulfilled it through her daughter’s professional success. What role is this cute little girl’s favourite? “I have executed all my roles with dedication. However my favourite role was that of Phulwa as I did that role for the longest time, my cast and crew were very friendly and we would have lots of fun on the sets,” she smartly answers. Divyam Dama: He plays Aarti’s (Kratika Sengar’s) son Ansh in Zee TV’s Punar Vivah and has enchanted us in Balika Vadhu as well. This six-year-old, unlike many other actors, doesn’t want to be an actor, but be a behind the lens professional. This kid insists that he has turned mature on being an actor. “I have become a responsible boy who is serious about his studies,” he quips. Divyam’s favourite scene was when his grandma Gayatri Devi (Zahida Parveen) locked his character (Ansh) in a room as a punishment for a mischief. Any child may go through a nightmarish ordeal in a scenario like this but Divyam who knew well that this was simply acting was laughing his guts off while enacting this scene. Bhavesh Balchandani: This 11-year-old has lucidly slipped into the role of a Punjabi village boy in Veera. Previously, he was also a part of Phulwa. Though he doesn’t have a sister in real life, he plays a mature elder brother to his reel kid sister Veera convincingly. He bonds excellently well with Harshita Ojha (the child who essays the role of Veera) and plays cricket with her and praises his co-star. “Harshita is an angelic child,” he adds. This talented boy has a rollicking time while doing the comedy scenes of Veera. Despite being a very good actor, he doesn’t want to be one when he grows up; he would rather be a pilot or a doctor. Rahul Pendkalkar: Though 11-year-old Rahul has done films including hits like My Friend Ganesha, Wake Up Sid and Delhi Belly, the role closest to his heart is that of Ishan in Hitler Didi as he thinks it is a fun role. When this little boy is not acting or studying; he is reading books, skating, getting into karate or cycling. His hero from the world of literature is Robin Hood. His dream role is of that of this heroic outlaw of English folklore. When asked if he thinks that Robin Hood did anything wrong in robbing the rich and gifting their money to the poor, he observes, “No, he was on the right path as he was helping the poor. I would like to reach out to the downtrodden too but not exactly in the way that Robin Hood did.”
