MUMBAI: Sanam Teri Kasam has made it big this time with its re-release. The first time when the movie was released it was 2016 and while it did not perform well at the box office, the emotional reactions from the audience spoke volumes.
Now, in 2025, after 9 years of its initial release, the movie has hit the big screens and it has got not just old fans back but new ones as well. Finally, the movie is getting its due success and it’s so powerful that even new releases are feeling the weight.
Harvardhan Rane is recognized and loved very much for his role in the movie as the main lead. The character’s journey, his emotions and his chemistry with the female lead Mawra Hocane has all touched the hearts of audiences and this time, the box office has reflected this love very well.
In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar, Harshvardhan Rane revealed about not being in touch with the team of Sanam Teri Kasam and gave a clear reason for it.
Harshvardhan Rane said, “I ended up losing touch with my directors Radhika ma’am and Vinay sir, I lost touch with my producer Deepak Mukut sir, I lost touch with the person who made this shirt, it’s from Sanam Teri Kasam, Rushi and Manoshi, most talented people I know, Ankita Dhar, everyone like beautiful people on the set like ADs, secondary cast, tertiary cast, 120 people I lost my touch with. I’m responsible and guilty about that.”
When asked if he got in touch with them sometime before the movie or was it after the movie re-released, to which the actor said, “Abhi tak sab se nahi hua hai. Abhi hopefully with these numbers, you know, it’s something strange about numbers. Hum kitna bhi aisa cool banne ki koshish kare ‘Arey kuch nahi hota numbers se’ but that is all, it won’t be completely truth, I’m sure it will be a truth for some people at some intensity but poori tarah nahi shayad koi itna attach ho sakta hai because I meditate over this everyday...”
Sanam Teri Kasam had a massive 6 Cr collection on a Sunday and even did an amazing 3-3.5 Cr collection on a Monday. These numbers are amazing for a Hindi movie in recent times.
