MUMBAI: Priya Marathe, best known for her role as Varsha in Pavitra Rishta, has passed away at the age of 38 after a prolonged battle with cancer. The actress passed away on 31st August 2025 leaving her fans and family distraught.
The news came as a shock for Marathe's friends and fans. Anurag Sharma who played Priya's on screen husband in Pavitra Rishta took to social media and shared a long note expressing his thoughts on the actress' demise.

Anurag mentioned that he had spent beautiful moments with Priya and added that she was one of the most genuine people he ever met.
Sharing a few pictures with Priya, Anurag wrote, "This is so unbelievable Heartbreaking news we got today. I have lost a truly beautiful person, brilliant artist and a friend. Thousands of memories spent with you are shuffling through my mind right now, but my hands are shivering.
He added, "Memories of working together will always be cherished. It was an honor to have shared the screen with Priya Marathe. She was a warm and generous soul whose laughter will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Mere dost Priya Marathe. Rest in peace. Om Shanti #priyamarathe."
