MUMBAI: Amaal Mallik recently opened up about an emotional milestone in his life, when he gifted his father a Mercedes car back in 2015-16 soon after his very first project. For his father, who had always dreamt of buying a car, the gift was nothing short of a dream come true.
Bigg Boss 19, streaming 24x7 LIVE on JioHotstar and airing every day at 9:00 PM on JioHotstar and 10:30 PM on COLORS, gave fans this heartfelt revelation as Amaal recounted the story inside the house.
Amaal shared how filmmaker Mohit Suri had called him to express pride after learning about the gift. “I had met your father during a project,” Mohit told him. “Instead of talking too much about the music that he had come to pitch, his eyes were on the cars, especially the Mercedes. When I later found out he finally got one, I called to ask where he was, and he said—‘In my Mercedes.’ I felt so happy for him.”
The composer also revealed how his father sacrificed his own desires for his children’s dreams. Despite doing a big project with legends like Shankar Mahadevan and Kumar Sanu, his father chose not to buy a car. Instead, he bought a customized Mac computer for Amaal.. “He once left home saying he would buy a car, but he came back with a Mac computer. He has sacrificed a lot for us,” Amaal recalled emotionally.
Adding with a smile, Amaal said, “My dad proudly says he is the most successful failure. My kids have done it all for me. Now he has become like a child—he keeps buying iPads and hides them from my mom with old covers, while my mom still believes in value-for-money.”
