MUMBAI: India’s most beloved singing reality show, Indian Idol, is back with a brand-new season on Sony Entertainment Television and this time, it’s tugging at every heartstring. Under the soulful theme “Yaadon Ki Playlist: Jahaan Awazein Aaj Wali Aur Gaane Aap Wale,” the show celebrates memories, melodies, and emotions from the 90s.
In the last season of Indian Idol, Lakshya Mehta who came in October 2024 was given a critcal feedback by Vishal that he should find his own style of singing. Vishal emphasized the importance of originality, stating, "Yeh Indian Idol hai na, yahaan aap nakal kar ke aage nahi badoge.”
This candid feedback sparked a wave of reactions on social media. While some supported Vishal’s stance on authenticity, others felt his approach was too harsh. The incident ignited debates about finding the right balance between constructive criticism and encouragement in reality shows.
Now Lakshya is back again and this time he is not the same as earlier. After his performance, Vishal’s words: “Ek musician banne ke liye 1 saal mein 10 saal ki mehnat karni padti hai. Aapne genuinely apne aap ko change kiya hai. What you have done is next to impossible and i'm so proud of you, Mai pure duniya ke saamne kehta hu ki mai galat saabit hua hu".
