When Rakesh Roshan’s Khoon Bhari Mang released way back in 1988, the audience was dumbstruck with the magnificent acting of Rekha who was pitted against Kabir Bedi and Shatrughan Sinha.
Now after 25 years, director Anup Jagdale has sought to make a Marathi remake of the much acclaimed film and titled it as Bharla Malwat Rakhtaana. And to play the female lead the director has roped in South Indian actress Kavita Radheshyam.
Khoon Bhari Maang was the story of a wealthy widow who is almost killed by her lover. And once out of trouble she sets out to take revenge.
Bharla Malwat Rakhtaana would be Kavita's first ever Marathi film. Observed the actress, "I heard Marathi Film industry is filled with people who have huge and wonderful heart. I am a diehard fan of films such as Jogwaa, Baalak Paalak (BP) and Pachaadlela among others. I am sure if the Marathi people like my work, they will offer me more films. As far as my role in the film is concerned, let me assure you that this one is the most challenging performance at my early stage of acting. I am really thankful to director Anup Jagdale for having faith in me."
Kavita, who is known as the latest version on Silk Smitha back home in Karnataka, will also be seen in the much anticipated Kannada action thriller Ragini IPS that will hit the silver screen soon.
