RRR: SS Rajamouli wins Best Director award at New York Film Critics Circle; are Golden Globes and Oscars also on the way to India?

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been making a mark internationally. Recently, the filmmaker won the Best Director award at New York Film Critics Circle, and now netizens are wondering whether Golden Globes and Oscars are also on the way to India.

MUMBAI : SS Rajamouli’s RRR is one of the most successful films of 2022. The movie starred Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran. While of course in India it did exceptionally well at the box office, the movie started getting a great response overseas after its OTT release.

Many international celebs started praising RRR on social media, and everyone expected that the movie will be India’s official entry to the Oscars in 2023. But, that didn’t happen, and the makers decided to submit their films individually to the Academy Awards.
