The actress most recently appeared as SJ Suryah's ex-girlfriend in Jigarthanda DoubleX, the most recent movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj. In the most recent development, the actress announced her divorce from her husband Cholan on social media. The actress has not revealed the exact reason behind her divorce. Sheela Rajkumar debuted as an actress in a minor role in the 2016 crime thriller Aarathu Sinam. The drama film To Let, directed by Chezhiyan, featured her in a lead role for the first time in 2017. Both reviewers and fans praised the film, which starred Shanthosh Sreeram and Dharun in significant parts. In actuality, the movie also took home the National Award for Tamil's Best Feature Film.
The actress also made her Malayalam debut the following year in the movie Kumbalangi Nights, which included a large ensemble cast that included significant characters played by Fahadh Faasil, Soubin Shahir, Anna Ben, Sreenath Bhasi, Shane Nigam, Mathew Thomas, and many others.
