The mishap involving Anuj and Vanraj earlier in the programme was deemed to have worsened the situation. While Anuj has been in a coma for 13 days, Vanraj regains consciousness.

Vanraj has no recollection of what transpired on the cliff, but Anuj is about to expose the truth, now that he has regained consciousness. However, when the doctor diagnoses Anuj to be paralysed, the situation worsens once more, and everything changes.

And that's when it becomes clear that Barkha, not Vanraj or Anuj, was the one responsible for the incident on the cliff.

Barkha was highly motivated to quickly seize control of the Kapadia Empire, hence the reason!
