MUMBAI: StarPlus’ daily show, ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’ has a very loyal fan base who adore Sargun Luthra (Preesha) and Rudraksh (Abrar Qazi) to bits. The show has had a steady run and the audience love the chemistry of their dearest RuSha.

Currently, Armaan is dead but the question is who murdered him. Preesha and Rudraksh are accused of murdering Armaan as they had a motive to kill him but Rudraksh tries to prove himself and Preesha innocent.
Rudraksh and Preesha are taken into custody where the inspector interrogates them and tells them to admit their crime but they both resist doing so as they have not killed him.
Later, the rickshaw driver came who had dropped Rudraksh home when he was intoxicated. The driver tells the whole story to the inspector. The inspector checks the CCTV footage of the place where the driver had picked up Rudraksh and the inspector finds out that Rudraksh is innocent. However, Preesha is still in danger as it’s not proven that she didn’t kill Armaan.
Rudraksh tries his best but fails to bail out Preesha. Later, The police finds out that Digvijay is the one who had murdered Armaan. As a result, Preesha is free and Digvijay gets arrested.

In the forthcoming episodes of the show, there’s going to be a 20 year leap where the story will be revamped but our favourite Sargun and Abrar will still be present.
As the story takes a 20 year leap, new characters will be introduced.
The show begins with a new story where two sisters- Nayantara (lead with Prisha's face) and Ishaani Nair, daughters of Malti Nair, who is a well-known matchmaker of their community residing in Delhi. The two sisters are total opposites of each other.
While Nayantara is an average looking, intelligent, introverted bookworm, her younger sister Ishaani is a conventionally attractive, extroverted personality.
Their mother, Malti has been trying to get Nayantara married but in vain as Nayantara keeps getting rejected by suitors, especially because of her personality as they get intimidated by her.
On the other hand, Revati who had left the country with Rudraksh and Prisha’s youngest son, Samrat (lead with Rudraksh’s face) comes back to India.
Samrat is introduced as a rich, spoiled brat, womanizer and a popular rockstar who is oblivious to the exploitation he faces by Revati for his money. Samrat loves his mother and sister, Alia with all his heart but hates his father for what he did to Revati.
The interesting thing to note here is that Revati has manipulated Samrat so that he hates his family.
Samrat’s sister, Alia is in love with Samrat’s personal manager named Ronak but he doesn’t see Alia as a match for himself.
When Revati gets Samrat to India after 20 years, Ronak meets Ishaani and falls for her.
