Resham Dankh bites the dust

Resham Dankh which started off as an interesting thriller and gradually went askew, is going off air from today. According to some sources, the downfall of this show was caused by the production house's (Hats Off) preference for Gujju actors that made them veer from the original storyline and give importance and more screen time to Gujju actors like Rajiv Mehta, Dimple Shah and relatively unknown actors which the viewers could not relate to. In the current track, popular and main lead stars like Raahil Azam and Moulli Ganguly were sidelined and this did not go down well with the home audience. When confronted, Aatish Kapadia refuted the charges, saying, "I am often accused of this which is the most ridiculous, insidious and nepotistic accusation ever. For your info, Vandana Pathak and Supriya Pathak (Khichdi) are not Gujaratis but Maharashtrians, Rajesh Kumar and Rupali Ganguly are a Bihari and a Bengali, respectively; Sumeet Raghavan is a South Indian (all of them from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai). And to say we cast Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah because they are Gujjus would be an insult to their talent." Aatish goes on to add, " Yes, I have a strong bias towards stage actors and I keep approaching serious stage actors, be it Gujarati or Marathi because they know the nuances of fine acting and perfectly understand the undercurrents of my storyline. Though unfortunately, I do agree that the sub-plotting had meandered too far from the original story and it is now difficult to come to any logical ending in relation to the original." The reason for the untimely and premature clobber of the serial is because the track had swerved to such an extent that even the main child protagonist around whom the story was based could not be brought back. The serial ends abruptly today, focusing on one of the chawl residents. Rakhi in, Roopali out?? The competition in Bigg Boss is getting tougher by the day! The air has already heated up with the buzz that the last to be ousted, Rakhi Sawant will be back in the Boss' den through the wild card entry round. She was considered to be the trump card of the show right from the start and the TRP's of the show soared as the public enjoyed the bindaas attitude of this hot item girl! Coming to the celebrities left in the show, the scene so appears that melodrama queen, Rupali Ganguli seems to be the next target to evacuate the house, Aryan Vaid being the other contender. She's even gone on record stating that the chances of her eviction are high as she thinks that Anupama and Aryan's love angle will give the show better TRPs. With Rakhi coming back to the show and Roopali's fears almost coming true we hope it works well for the shows TRP's. Sonia denies love! Sonia Kapoor, the snobbish Sonia Ray of Remix fame had created quite a stir recently as reports had filtered in that she was 'the lady' in nasal crooner, Himesh Reshamiya's life. We recently spotted the lady at a party happily chatting up her good friends Deepshikha and Anupam Bhattacharya. We chance this opportunity of confronting Sonia herself who fields our queries diplomatically. "I am not dating Himesh. It's just a rumour about the two of us. My personal life is very and nothings happening on that front," smiles Sonia who seemed to have a swollen eye which looked nothing short of conjunctivitis. Here's hoping the actor finds some work soon so that she has something else to talk about also! Hiten-Gauri's ouster raises speculations!! News has filtered in that the nation's favourite jodi no. 7, Hiten and Gauri have been voted out of Nach Baliye 2 which will be telecasted coming Monday. And now with the top three finalists - Hussain - Tina, Bhaktiar -Tanaaz and Yash - Gauri retained in the cut throat competition the media seems to be abuzz with speculations as to who will bag the coveted title this year! Bets are being laid more in favour of Hussain - Tina. And there's some logic being applied behind this too. Thought Yash- Gauri have proven their dancing skills time and again, they haven't been able to garner as much public votes and they have landed in the danger zone more than once. And coming to Tanaaz- Bhaktiar, in spite of earning 30/30 many a times, of late the judges are a bit put off by their oh-so-perfect act and especially Bhaktiar's I-am-the-best attitude. In fact the judges prefer Hussains suave moves and not Bhaktiar's power-packed performance. So all this leaves us with Tina - Hussain who have been consistently pleasing the judges with their act from day one and also the public is more biased towards Hussain who has made a mark for himself in Kumkum. We remember Jhalak Dikhla Ja's fate wherein Mona, who was more popular amongst the telly junta won the jackpot and not Shveta Salve. Will the similar pattern hold in case of NB 2? But then coming back to the fact that it's basically a reality show, you never know who get lucky in the end!
