Every mother is a bit insecure about her child : Shweta Tiwari

Shweta Tiwari
The favourite bahu of Indian television is back on the small screen. Shweta Tiwari is all set to portray the role of an insecure and humourous mother in DJ’s A Creative Unit’s Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi on Sony. The talented actress was the first female contestant to win Bigg Boss (season 4) and bag prize money of Rs 1 crore. Beautiful and glamorous Shweta speaks to Tellychakkar.com on her new show, motherhood, Bigg Boss, and more. Excerpts: Why did you opt for Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi? Well, the show is different. I did not want to indulge in rona dhona anymore. Producer of the show, Tony Singh, approached me for this role and gave me the script. I read it thoroughly and finally said yes. I know I will enjoy playing Sweety, my character in Parvarrish, as I am a mother in real life as well. I don’t have to apply loads and loads of make up and wear heavy sarees. The show is more realistic and viewers can relate to it. Your character is that of an insecure mother. Are you an insecure mother in real life as well? Not really, I give Palak –my daughter – space of her own. But let’s face it; every mother is a bit insecure about her child. Palak is 13 now and it makes me uncomfortable if she wears short skirts or revealing tops. I admit I too wear such clothes but that’s part of my profession. But she is young and she has lot to learn in life. I think every mother will agree to what I am saying. You’re talking about every mother. How is your mother like? I was never a good student. My mother used to keep saying, “Tujhe sirf nautanki karne aati hai aur kuch nahi” (laughs). My mother was insecure about a lot of things as I was very stubborn and adamant as a child. I used to get irritated then but now I can absolutely relate to her situation. How is life after so many years of motherhood? Life is smooth and good. There are ups and downs but that’s a part and parcel of everyone’s life. Other than that, everything is fine. My mother stays with me so she takes care of Palak. I am pretty much content in life. How was your experience in Comedy Circus? It was amazing. But I must admit comedy is not a piece of cake. I went as a guest performer initially, but after receiving a good response, decided to stay on longer. I had a nice time altogether. Are you following Bigg Boss Season 5? I am not. In fact, I have never followed any of its previous seasons. I went inside the house as they offered me good money. And frankly speaking, they only want to air nasty stuffs about contestants. They showed Dolly Bindra fighting with me, but they did not air the episode when she came up to me and apologized. When I was in the house, every contestant played kho-kho in the evening. Woh bhi nahin dikhaya unhone. It’s sad that Bigg Boss only airs negative things. Are you planning to take up any other reality show? As of now, I am focusing only on Parvarrish…I don’t take up more than one project at a time. So as of now, I will not do any reality show but yes, I am open to offers in the future. Finally, any message for your fans? Please keep blessing me the way you have done all these years. Keep appreciating my work and I shall work hard to entertain you and bring smile to your lips.
