I don't think TV actors can have a personal life: Siddharth Arora

Siddharth Arora
Siddharth Arora better remembered as Beera of Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kaha Season 2 is back with a bang on Zee TV’s Doli Armaanon Ki. The actor has a lot of expectations with this particular project as this is also his first association outside his debutant channel, Colors. In a freewheeling chat with Tellychakkar.com, he talks about his wish to be noticed as a versatile actor with a passion for acting. Read on…. How different is this character from the ones that you have essayed earlier? It’s very different from my role in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2 where I essayed a rowdy. In Mukti Bandhan I played a businessman with loads of attitude. In Doli, Ishaan is a sophisticated man and I took up this role as it was different and I did not want to repeat myself. You are one of those lucky few actors who keep bagging roles one after another. Comment… Touchwood! (laughs) I believe it’s important to have a good working relationship with your production house as that plays a major role in you bagging your next project. A person likes working with a dedicated, passionate professional and this is something that I have learnt in two and half years of my television career. Three shows in two and a half years, a great start we must say! What’s next? An actor is a very greedy person, so I would say there is a lot more to come. For now I am looking at hosting reality shows and also participating in them. What are your expectations from Doli Armaanon Ki, the Spellbound Productions show? I am looking at emerging as a versatile actor with this show. After my first show (Mukti Bandhan) I was offered characters more like it; next I started getting rowdy offers because of Na Bole… But then I believe in versatility and do not like being tagged. I would like people to know that I can play different kind of characters. Are you looking forward to a better fan following as well? I have some very loving and caring fans but I would like it to increase 1000 times more as some of the other actors have a humongous fan following. And though I want it to increase it’s not in my hands. I have to give my best shot through my performance, and I am striving hard to give my best. You have also moved out of Colors with this show? Yes, this is my first show outside Colors and it’s a bit different as I have always connected myself with the Colors logo. And I must admit that I am very close to Colors but I am also happy to be associated with Zee TV. It’s an indigenous channel. How did your family react to you bagging Doli Armaanon Ki? They like my character. Moreover they feel I am progressing as an actor, so it’s good. However, I don’t take most of the compliments seriously as I feel I have a lot to learn. There is this new trend of men dressing up as women – courtesy Comedy Nights With Kapil. Would you take up such a role? I think I’ll make a wonderful woman as I am fair and cute. The audiences have never seen me off beard. But if I play a woman they will get to see me clean. I would make for a tall-lean woman. Plus Comedy Nights With Kapil and Bigg Boss are my favourite shows. In fact, I don’t sleep without watching Bigg Boss and my show, no matter what time I come home. Do you watch all the episodes of your show? Yes, I record all the episodes and watch them once I am home. In fact I watch four to five episodes of my old shows at a stretch too at times to improve my acting skills. I am extremely passionate about my work. In fact every time I have a day off I make it a point to watch a good movie or catch up with a play at Prithvi Theater. Are you in a relationship? I don’t think TV actors can have a personal life and I have learnt this early in life. But yes, if I find someone I will definitely get into a relationship then. But, that willingness hasn’t come yet.
