The otherwise private Barun Sobti bares his heart in a tell all interview!

The most awaited sequel of 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' is finally happening. This will be the third season of the hit TV show on Star Plus. The show will star Barun Sobti and Shivani Tomar in lead roles.

Barun is pretty kicked about the show and in a heart of hearts conversation with Tellychakkar, he shared details about the show and about his personal life.

Read on to know what he said:

Do you get any queries on social media related to the show?

No, I don't get. I'm not even there on any social media platform. I'm bad at doing social media gimmicks, and moreover I feel why should the world know what's happening in my life.

You were away from TV from a long time, what' the reason?

Actors are basically freelancers. We have the option of picking up what we like. That's why, I picked up the things I liked and I believed in.

Because of your films and other things, your work in TV was getting delayed. Do you regret that?

When I left the show, I wanted to travel with my wife. I wanted a vacation so I don't regret anything. Things go bad and good for everybody. So right now I'm happy the way things have turned out.

Did you know that you would be a part of the third season after moving out of the first season of the show?

I really had no idea. The first season was a huge hit, and I left it at the peak of its success. I had absolutely no idea I would do it again.

Your character in the show appears to be the same angry young man. Why not experiment with the characters?

People categorize you in different genres. As an actor I have a larger range to categorize. This character is not an angry young man by any chance. It’s not a replicate of the previous character either. This is a very hostile, dark, unapologetic character, so that's a different realm altogether. And, any choice that an actor has to make is based on the proposal made to them. I choose what I'm proposed.

Did you ever feel - I should have done that role?

Thank god, never did I feel so. I'm very selective in matters of my work. If people like it, I get the credit, if people don't like it I get criticism.

Does a good script matter or a good pay?

If it was for money, I had several opportunities to make huge money. I only want to do good characters that I believe in.

Recently there was an international survey and you were declared the sexiest. What do you think of such surveys?

I don't take them seriously. There's no party at my place for such things. I feel very lucky on having such a huge fan following. But at the same time, I think people like me for what I am. It motivates me to do better. But I like to stay away from people. I stay private because I like it. I am a private person.

You don't socialize much. Don't you have the fear of losing out?

Not at all. As I said, I'm a very private person. I feel, it is your work that speaks. These gimmicks won't do you any good than your work will.

Do you feel insecure about new talent?

There's enormous amount of work here. If you have talent, you will survive. I don't keep a tab on every new comer.

Will your fans ever get to see you doing any reality shows?

No, I'm not a big fan of reality shows. But I can't say about future.

Will you ever do a fantasy based or a mythological or historical show?

I don't know yet. In these genres, you need terrific actors. I feel I'm not good enough for it. If I don't fit into a character in my mind when I'm told about it, I say no.

Barun, you are a very good person at heart and we pray that you keep your humility intact. We wish you al the success in life and career. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Du is slated to premiere on 3rd July on Star Plus.
