MUMBAI: After a lot of speculations as to how Durga Puja would be this year, the celebration of the festival has finally begun, and it’s already Maha Saptami today. This is one of the biggest festivals of Bengal and is celebrated in a grand way every year. People are celebrating the festival this year also but with a difference because of the pandemic. One of the biggest changes is the utilization of mask. One is expected to wear a mask when outside to ensure his/her as well as others’ safety. In his latest Instagram picture, Sourav Ganguly can be seen wearing a mask as he posed in front of the idol of Goddess Durga.

While sharing the picture on his social media handle, the former national cricket team captain and current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India also penned down a beautiful caption, defining the power and beauty of the deity.
His caption reads, “Ma durga ...I have not seen anything more beautiful and powerful then this ...happy durga puja all.”

This year the festival is going to be different because of the Coronavirus. Due to the deadly virus, the Calcutta High Court has directed the state government to declare all pandals 'no-entry zones'. Thus, people are expected to enjoy the festival while maintaining social distancing.
