MUMBAI: PT Usha, who is a retired Indian track and field athlete, had put in a tremendous amount of hard work to shine in her profession. Needless to say, her journey has inspired millions of people.
Often called the ‘queen of Indian track and field’, Usha made her international debut in 1980 and then went on to win innumerable medals for the country. For her contribution in the field of sports, she has been bestowed with Padma Shri and Arjuna Award.
Her dedication and speed has inspired many to take up sports. But did you know her father initially didn’t want her to take up sports?

Well, according to the reports, young PT Usha was a bright student during her school years. Her parents thought that she would become a teacher like her mother. Initially, her father did not want her to take up sports because he didn’t want her to get injured and knew very little about the world of sports.
We wonder how things would have been had she become a teacher not an athlete.
