Abhinav Shukla is back to 'work mode', feels Rubina is 'truly lucky' for him...

Abhinav Shukla is an actor who will never pick up the simple boy-next-door role, whenever he is seen on television!! Yes, with quite a good experience in his acting career so far, the man will now make a thunderous entry into Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum (Shashi Sumeet Productions). To be seen in the character of Om, the grandson of Maasa (Ragini Shah), Abhinav will once again entertain his fans. Not seen in a fiction show for a long time now, we tried asking the actor on what prompted him to pick up this show. And pop came the honest answer from the man. “Well, my film project got delayed and coincidentally, I got approached by Shashi Sumeet Productions, where I met the Producer and she told me about various instances when they tried to rope me in, and I was found busy either cycling, or camping or trekking outdoors. It brought in a great feeling that they have wanted me for long. Also my interest in working with them was also there. So it was like a ‘Bingo’”. The man maintained to talk little about his role stating it to be, “One with many layers. It is not a cameo. It is not out rightly positive, at the same time it is not negative. It is tad bit mysterious owing to the history of Om, my character.” On being part of an iconic show Diya Aur Baati Hum, Abhinav quipped, “It was the No. 1 show for a long time, and is still among the top shows in India. It feels good to be part of a successful project; I will get to learn a lot from the experiences of all the co-actors.” When asked if it was a conscious decision on his and Rubina’s part to pick work at the same time, he averred, “Not exactly, these are separate events. She bagged a good show and a brilliant character to play. She has waited for something substantial and I just got lucky I guess by bagging this role. I can say, she is lucky for me (smiles). Also, I realized I was off from TV for a while and my film will not release till next year. So why not be part of a good project, was the thought.” On what his fans can expect from this comeback role of his, Abhinav with a cute smile stated, “They can expect that their love for me will grow (laughs). I always speak my heart out and they know of it.” Well, Abhinav who is quite an adventure freak in real life is happy to be back to work, but it only means that his travel bag will take a back seat now. When asked about this, he said, “Aaahhhh, I know. I was planning a cycling expedition the day I signed the show. I have a lot planned, more extreme, more hardcore and more challenging.” Yes, it’s certainly ‘work mode’ for Abhinav...
