Aneek, Sanchita survive car mishap

Aneek Dhar and Sanchita Banerjee, winners of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 and 2006 respectively, met with a near fatal accident in the outskirts of Guwahati today. The duo had performed at a show and was on their way back from Kokrajaar, around 250 kms from the city, when a speeding truck collided with their car. Recalling the incident, Pankaj Bagrecha, the event organiser, says, “They had to catch an early morning flight and thus they decided to leave from the scene immediately. It was around 5.45 am when their Balero was hit by a truck. Aneek, Sanchita and her father have suffered severe bruises to the head and body. All three were admitted to Guwahati Civil Hospital. Aneek has now returned to Kolkata but Sanchita and her father are still in hospital. Her father is reported to be critical and the driver of the vehicle has succumbed to his injuries.”
