Anushka Manchanda is the first evictee for Jhalak 4

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has its first shocking and unexpected elimination that of pop-singer Anushka Manchanda’s. Anushka and her partner Puneet danced on a combination of songs sung by Anushka and their dance form was Rock n Roll. Says a source, “The jodi had performed well, there were other performances which were weak in comparison to Anushka-Puneet’s, so her eviction came as a shocker. They got very less votes from the janta. They got decent feedback from the judges, so it was just the votes which did them in.” The opening episode of Jhalak fetched a rating of 4.8 with the Tuesday episode getting 5.1. Ajit Thakur, marketing head, Sony, also seemed to be excited about the rising ratings for the show after Kaun Banega Crorepati. Looks like Madhuri Dixit’s charisma is working for them.
