MUMBAI: Telly actress Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya is a popular television actress for portraying poignant characters in many Hindi TV serials.
Hailing from Bhopal, Tripathi started her career as an anchor on All India Radio (Bhopal). She participated in Pantene Zee Teen Queen in 2003 and won the title of 'Miss Beautiful Skin'. In 2004, she was also crowned 'Miss Bhopal'.
Tripathi made her acting debut for the channel Doordarshan first. Thenafter, she was recognised for portraying the dynamic dual roles of Vidya (an orphan and illiterate girl) and Divya ( a modern and literate girl) in Zee TV's fiction series Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. She won many accolades for the same, including the Indian Television Academy Award for 'Best Actress in Drama Category' and the Indian Telly Award for 'Fresh New Face'.
In 2013, she grabbed her breakthrough television role of the on-screen character Dr. Ishita Bhalla (an infertile dentist and had married a chief executive officer who was also a single-father, in order to provide maternal affection to his daughter) in Ekta Kapoor's show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Herein, Tripathi had starred opposite Karan Patel. For her exuberant performance as Ishita Bhalla, Tripathi won many accolades and nominations like the Indian Telly Award for 'Best Actress in a Lead Role', the Lions Gold Award for 'Best Actress in Lead Role' and the Boroplus Gold Award for 'Best Actress in a Lead Role'. In 2015, she received a Shan-E-Bhopal Award. In 2016, she received two awards at the Gold Awards for 'Face of The Year' and 'Best Actress in a Lead Role'.
In 2017, she participated in Nach Baliye 8 with her husband Vivek Dahiya and the couple emerged as the show's winner. She has also hosted reality shows like Star Plus' singing reality show - The Voice 3 (2019).
