There’s no denying that, in the 12 seasons of its successful run, American Idol has come up with some of the most celebrated song themes and this year is no different. The popular singing reality show which airs exclusively on BIG CBS LOVE, in concurrence with the U.S, is all set to pay tribute to the biggest musical legends of the century. The Top 9 finalists will take to stage to perform some of the greatest Beatles’ tracks in a special homage to the band’s iconic stars John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
One of the most loved and influential bands of our era, ‘The Beatles’ have ruled the rock ‘n’ roll genre with their universal appeal and timelessness. The band catapulted John Lennon and Paul McCartney into the limelight, with the former being given the status of a demi-God in the musical world. The top nine American Idol Season 12 contestants will dedicate the night to the iconic band in a special tribute performing some of their greatest hits like ‘Hold your hand’, ‘Hey Jude’ and ‘Let it be’. Also adding sheen and providing moral support to their favorite contenders will be the international rapping sensation Ne-Yo and last year’s Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez who are slated to perform their brand new duet on the show.
But will the anxiety of living up to the expectations that come along with covering a ‘Beatles’ track prove too much for the talented young contestants? Will judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson be easy to impress? Who will steal the show and who will perish in the aftermath of the performances?
This special sequence will air this Friday 22 March at 9pm.
