MUMBAI: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the most popular shows of the small screen. The hit sitcom which has been running successfully for more than a decade has become everyone's favourite.
The show gained a huge popularity over the years for its light-hearted comedy. There is never a dull moment in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma and that's what makes it watchable for the viewers.
While we have always seen the show spreading smiles and happiness but there were times when TMKOC was in the news for a different reason.
A few years ago, a popular character from the show was fired and the news came as a huge shocker to the viewers.
Well, there's an interesting story behind it. Dilip Joshi who plays the role of Jethalal in the show had travelled to London for a show. While there are lots of fans of TMKOC across the nation, the people in London simply loved Jethalal and Popatlal's on-screen camaraderie. Popatlal's role is being played by Shyam Pathak.

As people there insisted to see Jethalal and Popatlal together, Dilip called Shyam and asked him to come over. Shyam got extremely excited and immediately flew to London for the show.
Meanwhile, here the shooting schedule was disturbed due to Shyam's absence as the other cast members kept waiting for him.
When the producer Asit Modi came to know about it, he got extremely upset with Shyam's unprofessionalism.
A few days later when Shyam was back on the set, the producer asked him to leave as he was no more a part of the show. Of course, this came as a huge shocker to the actor.
Shyam remained home for a few days and later realised his mistake. Well, he immediately went back to the producer and solved the matter after which Asit Modi got him back in the show.
Shyam could have lost his job had he not went ahead to solve the matter on time.
