MUMBAI: Disha Vakani, who is best known for playing the lead role of Daya Jethalal Gada in SAB TV's long-running sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been given a 30-day ultimatum by the producer of the show, Asit Kumarr Modi.
The actress took maternity leave for six months in 2017, but after that, she hasn’t returned to the show. According to some reports, Disha’s husband wants her to take care of the child, while others stated that she is asking for a hike from the makers of the soap after her pregnancy.

Now, according to latest media reports, Disha has been asked by Modi to decide whether or not she wants to return to the show.

A source said to media, “Bas, ab ho gaya. Modi waited ethically how much he and his cast-crew could. Now, Modi says he will just give a concession period of a month, starting today. There has been absolutely no contact between the two parties ever since Dayaben's last day at the shoot. Team Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has no problems if she wants to look after her baby but some of her demands that they would imply if she was to return, were just not easy to accept when her husband last has a word with us.”
